  • Appointed as Director General of PEZA since its creation in 1995.
    • First appointed by President Fidel V. Ramos in 1995, re-appointed by President Joseph E. Estrada in 1998, and re-appointed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2001, 2004 and 2006.
    • PEZA under her leadership is characterized by NO CORRUPTION, NO RED-TAPE, ONLY RED CARPET TREATMENT to investor.
    • PEZA for the past 14 years has brought in over One Trillion and 327 Billion Pesos (P1.327 Trillion)  investments into the country
    • From 16 economic zones in 1995, PEZA has grown to 193 economic zones with close to 2,000 investor companies, most of which are foreign multinationals who are among the Fortune 500 corporations with cumulative export of over 320 Billion US dollars and employment of over three (3) Million Filipinos.
    • Of the country’s manufacture exports, 86% come from the PEZA economic zones
    • She has turned around PEZA to be one of the biggest earners among Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC)
  • For bringing in hundred of Japanese investors, Director General Lilia B. de Lima has been bestowed the Order of the RISING SUN Gold and Silver Star by the Government of Japan, the highest such award given to non-Heads of State
  • First Partner of Industry Award given by the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries of the Philippines, Inc.
  • Pearl Awardee given by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines
  • Awardee, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Annual given in Tokyo, Japan
  • She has headed hundreds of investment missions to the US, Asia, and Europe where she has been invited as main speaker or principal resource person. Locally, she has spoken in hundred of similar fora.

  • Volunteer Prosecuting Lawyer in a celebrated case in Australia in 1981 that led to the conviction of the son of an influential retired Trade Commissioner who murdered a Filipina maid for insurance money
