PEZA Deepens Japan Investor Engagements, Advances Expansion Prospects in Key Industrial Hubs

Thursday, June 25, 2026

Pasay City – The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), led by Director General Tereso O. Panga as Head of Delegation, in partnership with the Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. (Science Park), and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), successfully conducted a Japan Investment Mission covering key investment and industrial centers in Fukuoka, Shizuoka, Hamamatsu, Yokohama, Tokyo, Maebashi-Gunma, and Nagano.

The mission formed part of PEZA’s continuing efforts to sustain the investment momentum generated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s recent state visit to Japan, where several PEZA-registered locators announced expansion projects amounting to approximately PHP 60 billion and expected to generate around 10,300 jobs.

Building on this strong vote of confidence from Japanese investors, PEZA and Science Park pursued targeted engagements with Japanese companies, chambers of commerce, local governments, financial institutions, academic institutions, and industry organizations to advance expansion prospects, generate new investment leads, and promote the Philippines as a strategic and competitive investment destination in Asia.

PEZA, in partnership with Science Park and JCCI, successfully conducted several investment forums and B2B meetings across key industrial areas in Japan from 01-11 June 2026

“Japan remains one of PEZA’s most important and longstanding investment partners. This mission allowed us to directly engage existing and prospective Japanese investors, respond to their expansion requirements, and present new opportunities in our ecozones. We are encouraged by the continued confidence of Japanese companies in the Philippines, and PEZA will continue to provide the investor support, ease of doing business, and reliable ecozone environment that they need to grow,” said PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga.

Throughout the mission, PEZA and Science Park engaged the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mealin International Law Firm, PEZA-registered enterprise Yo Zuri, Wood One Co. Ltd., Fair Consulting Group, the Hamamatsu Chamber of Commerce, the Shizuoka Prefectural Government, Shizuoka Bank, the Nagano Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other business and government stakeholders. These discussions provided an opportunity to present PEZA’s ecozone advantages, highlight the Philippines’ improved investment climate, and identify areas for closer collaboration with Japanese enterprises and institutions.

The delegation also met with Tamiya Corporation, which reaffirmed its strong confidence in the Philippines as a manufacturing base. Tamiya operates its only manufacturing facility outside Japan in the Philippines, underscoring the country’s important role in the company’s global production network and the continued trust of Japanese manufacturers in the Philippine business environment.

PEZA also met with Ajinomoto Co., Inc. to discuss the company’s growth plans in the Philippines.
