Rosario, Cavite – The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has kicked off the annual Fire Brigade Competition at the Cavite Economic Zone (CEZ) today, 01 March 2023, in line with the celebration of the Fire Prevention Month.
The Competition aims to help develop and enhance the firefighting and emergency rescue skills of residents and schools surrounding CEZ such as the Barangay and Campus Fire Brigades from Rosario, General Trias, Noveleta, Tanza, and other nearby municipalities of CEZ.
“We would like to commend the efforts of our CEZ Administrator Atty. Norma Tañag and her team as well as our partners, the Cavite Export Zone Investors’ Association (CEZIA) and Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI) National, for constantly educating the residents and employees around the area in preparation for possible manmade and natural disasters,” noted PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga.
He added, “We must enhance our efforts to not only to train but also to integrate our fellowmen in strengthening initiatives to protect our ecozones and the nearby provinces in times of need.”
Serving as one of PEZA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, the Fire Brigade Competition is an annual kick-off activity of CEZ for the Fire Prevention Month every March, which is jointly organized by PEZA-CEZ, CEZIA, and SOPI National.
Aside from the participating teams from the CEZ locators and Barangay and Campus Fire Brigades, the event was also graced by Mr. Takashi Kawano of CEZIA, BFP IV-A Assistant Regional Director SSupt Arvin Rex Afalla, BFP IV-A Assistant Team Leader Supt Fernan Gil Cagampan, Provincial Chief Intelligence and Investigation Section, Cavite SInsp. The winning teams in the competition will be endorsed by PEZA-CEZ to participate in the National Fire Brigade Competition, organized by SOPI National and the Bureau of Fire Protection on 04 March 2023. ###
