PEZA remains ISO 9001 certified for 15 years in a row

Pasay City – The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) maintained its ISO certification following a successful re-certification audit under the ISO 9001:2015 standard conducted by TUV Nord Philippines last November 28 to December 01, 2023.

According to PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga, “Ease of doing business is one of the factors being looked at by global companies before investing in a certain country. That is why we continue to strengthen our initiatives to enhance processes and the overall ease of doing business, particularly in the ecozones to provide the best services to our partners and stakeholders.”

 

PEZA successfully concluded its four-day ISO 9001:2015 re-certification audit conducted by TUV Nord Philippines

 

PEZA’s 3-year certification to ISO 9001:2000 was first awarded on 9 December 2008. This was upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 with an extension of scope to include all processes and additional sites clustered into supervising offices on 01 March 2010. Since 2018, PEZA has maintained its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

“PEZA is among the few agencies in government that has maintained its QMS certification for all processes covering all its offices nationwide for the past 15 years and counting,” Panga stated.

PEZA has instituted organization-wide programs in order to become more responsive, effective, efficient, competitive and innovative in upholding its commitments. As part of its ongoing efforts, PEZA is implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) for all PEZA processes in all its sites to ensure the delivery of timely and efficient services to its clients and to help fulfill PEZA’s corporate vision and mission.

To complement the agency's continual improvement, PEZA under the helm of Director General Panga likewise embarked on various automation and digitalization measures to enhance the business ecosystem for ecozone investors and other stakeholders.
